Learn English with short videos: cartoons, interviews and more
A short video can show you how English sounds in different situations. A cartoon, sitcom scene, street interview or news clip gives you voices, context and everyday expressions. The useful part is what you do with the clip before you swipe again.

Choose a clip you actually want to watch
Pick a category that interests you: cartoons and animated stories, a scene from a sitcom or series, a street interview, a dialogue, or a short news or documentary clip. Different formats bring different speech styles. Interviews may be less predictable; animation may give you clearer context; news may include formal words.
Choose a clip where you can follow the main idea. If every sentence feels out of reach, use a shorter or easier clip. You are looking for enough understanding to stay curious and a few new expressions to notice.
Watch once for the story, then check a phrase
On the first watch, follow who is speaking and what is happening. Do not stop for every unfamiliar word. On the next pass, use subtitles to check a phrase that matters to the scene. In Lexiego’s English video feed, you can interact with words in the subtitles and return to the clip.
In a street interview, listen for the person’s main opinion before checking a phrase such as “I didn’t expect that”. Then replay the line and see if you can recognise it by sound.
Replay one useful line and make it yours
Replay a short section after checking its meaning. Try to recognise the line by sound, then explain what it means in your own words. Save a phrase only if you can imagine using it or want to understand it again.
If the same line is still hard to follow, use the subtitle once more or choose a more manageable clip. Replaying has a purpose when you know what you are listening for.
Make the next swipe part of a small routine
Keep the session light but give it an end. One clip, one question and one phrase can be enough for a short visit. Cartoons, sitcoms, interviews and documentaries can all help you learn when you can follow the main idea; endless viewing by itself does not show what you understood.
